A Grave Walk

Let's take a walk.

Everyone needs some fresh air once in a while. That doesn't mean you can't be getting ready for you next TTRPG session.

A Grave Walk is a solo roleplaying game that doubles as an NPC generator. Take a walk through a cemetery and use some simple tables to turn the information on the headstones into semi-developed NPCs that can be used during other RPGs. With a few simple prompts, you can flesh out the relationships between the characters within your RPG's setting.

When I am playing Fallen or Mörk Borg solo, I keep a stack of these NPC booklets at hand and pick one when I encounter a new NPC.

Each character sheet folds into an A7 bifold:

The tables and prompts are provided in 3 formats:

1. Single page print: The first page of the full PDF prints the 8 pages of the instructions so that the paper can be used unfolded.
2. A7 booklet print: The second page of the full PDF prints the 8 pages of the instructions in the order/orientation needed to fold/glue/staple/cut it into an 8-page, A7 zine (my preferred way to carry them).
3. Cell Phone: each A7 page of the printed instructions is presented on its own page of a PDF, perfect for easy viewing on a cell phone screen while you walk. You'll still need to print out a few copies of page 3 from the full PDF to create the character sheets.

This game was created for the Tiny Keepsake Jam in April, 2023. The A7 bifold character sheets are the keepsakes that the game creates, and hopefully you can use them again (and continue to develop the characters) during other TTRPGs.
